Welcome to the Jamaica Autism Academy (JAA)! We are thrilled that you are considering our institution for your child’s educational journey. Steps to Apply
Below, you’ll find important information about the admissions process.
We understand that the admissions process can be a crucial decision for both you and your child. Our goal is to make this process as smooth and transparent as possible. Please follow these steps to apply to Jamaica Autism Academy:
1. Initial Contact
Reach out to us by phone or email to express your interest in enrolling your child at JAA. Our Admissions Team will respond promptly and provide you with the necessary information to begin the process.

2. Schedule an Interview
Once you’ve made contact, we will arrange a face-to-face or virtual interview with you and your child. This meeting helps us understand your child’s unique needs, your goals for their education, and to discuss how we can best support them at JAA.
3. Submit Supporting Documents
During or after the interview, we will request relevant documents to assist in our evaluation. These may include:
- A recent medical report with your child’s neurodiverse diagnosis (if applicable).
- Academic records or evaluations from prior educational settings (if available).
- Assessments from therapists or specialists (e.g., speech, occupational therapy).
4. Comprehensive Assessment
Following the interview, we will conduct an in-depth assessment to evaluate your child’s developmental, educational, and therapeutic needs. This assessment allows us to create a personalized plan that addresses your child’s specific goals.
5. Admission Decision
Once the assessment is complete, we will notify you of our admission decision. If your child is accepted, we will guide you through the next steps in enrollment.
6. Enrollment and Orientation
Upon acceptance, you will finalize enrollment by submitting the required forms and documentation. You and your child will also attend an orientation to familiarize yourselves with the academy, meet our staff, and learn about the programs and services available.
Eligibility Criteria
Students must meet the following criteria for acceptance into JAA:
- Must be between ages 2-19
- Primary diagnosis of Autism or any other neurodiverse conditions
- Severe learning difficulties
- Challenging behaviour
- Has other pervasive developmental disabilities
